Two Pittsburgh culinary powerhouses are coming together for one killer restaurant opening! Richard DeShantz is joining forces with Keith Fuller of Root 174 to bring all the meats to Downtown Pittsburgh.

Pork & Beans, a pork-centric smokehouse and beer garden in the Cultural District (136 6th Street), will offer a menu that will include house-smoked and house-cured meats, plus a variety of salads, sandwiches, entrees and schnitzels.

The bar program will offer a deep selection of local beers and other hard-to-find brews as well as a selection of hand-crafted cocktails.

“We wanted to bring things we both do really well together to create something the city has never seen before.”

Both chefs wanted to come together to create a space with a fun and relaxed atmosphere, with communal seating and a wide range of price points on the menu. The longtime friends and collaborators are currently working on the final menu preparations and are putting the finishing touches on the kitchen – which includes an indoor smoker.

New bad ass sign for pork and beans thanks to @tollgaterevival
